Objectives of Pravasi Uttarakhand Cell
- To reach out to the Uttarakhand Pravasis residing out of Uttarakhand in various countries and in other states, and create their database.
- To promote a sense of belonging and attachment towards their native state.
- To introduce the Culture and Language of the Uttarakhand State to the young generation of Pravasis. To arrange exchange programs for the students and young Pravasis.
- To utilize the expertise, experiences, financial strengths of the Pravasis in the development process of the state
- To co-ordinate with various relevant ministries in Government of India and promote effective implementation of various schemes and programs initiated by Govt. of India for Pravasis.
- To issue Uttarakhand NRI identity cards to Pravasis residing outside the country.
- To confer appropriate hon'our and awards to Pravasis for their outstanding contributions and achievements
- To organize special events for consultation and deliberations from time to time with the Pravasis through organising 'Uttarakhandi Pravasi Day'.
- To provide information on various policies, programmes and the opportunities for investments in the state.
- To organize cultural and educational exchange programs through various departments of the State Government.
- To provide a platform for effective redressal of grievances of Pravasis.
- To coordinate special policies and programs for Pravasis.
Action Plan
- Creation of Pravasi database • Registration of pravasis through website. • Registration of pravasi Associations/Organizations.
- Status paper on pravasis in different countries and in different States.
- Dissemination of important information to pravasis through website.
- To provide links of relevant State Government Departments.
- Identification of prominent pravasis who have achieved outstanding success in their field of activity. Institution of Pravasi awards.
- Seeking suggestions and inputs from pravasis for the development of the State by utilizing their expertise, experience and financial support in the development of State.
- Involving pravasis in the development process through adoption of villages by pravasis.
- Coordination with various Ministries of GoI like Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Home, etc. Arranging workshops and seminars with the help of these Ministries for the benefit of pravasis.
- Listing of approved education and employment consultants with the help of MEA.
- Coordination with MEA for registration of students going Abroad for education.
- Organization of Pravasi Uttarakhand Diwas.
- Proving a mechanism for Grievances Redressal of the Pravasis.
- Issue identity cards to Uttarakhandi Pravasis.
- Formulation of policies and programs for the Pravasis.
